Today we are trying the 2008 Apothic Red. Robert Parker called this wine “one of the greatest bargains I have ever tasted from California.” A blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a sweet nose of candied cherries. The wine has some big up front jammy fruit and ends with a touch of herb on the finish. We have to agree with Mr. Parker on this one being a great value.
